This workshop offers Line Managers a brief introduction into the terms and conditions relating to the employment of Locally Employed Civilians within BFG. This is a mobile workshop where the LEC Training Wing staff will travel to the unit concerned provided a minimum of 12 students will be attending. The seminar is not a substitute for the full Line Managers workshop however!

During the course, the following areas will be covered:

a. A brief overview of civil labour administrative & industrial relation organisations within BFG.
b. An insight into the terms and conditions of employment in respect of the DEL & DEP staff.
c. BFG recruitment & selection procedures.
d. Advice and guidance regarding individual training needs and the completion of appraisals.
e. BFG disciplinary and absence procedures.
f. General pay and conditions of service including the pay process, leave & sickness, allowances as well as maternity and travel.

The workshop will benefit any individual in authority who has a day to day responsibility for the management and administration of LEC who are for the present unable to attend a full three day Line Managers workshop.

These one day workshops will be run on an as and when basis subject to LEC Training Wing commitments. A separate one day course application form is available at the rear of this booklet. It is the requesting unit's responsibility to provide a suitable venue as well as technical presentation facilities.
