(How to conduct an employment interview)

Course Objectives :

The Workshop is designed to furnish participants with in depth insight into handling all aspects of a recruitment and selection interview. It is designed to enable those taking part to understand how to get best results from their interviews. On conclusion of the Workshop participants should be able to ensure that that are capable of selecting the most appropriate candidate for the job, regardless of sex, race, disability or other negative forms of discrimination.

 

During the course, the following areas will be covered:

a. The BF(G) recruitment process.

b. The interviewers approach.

c. An employee (PERSON) specification.

d. How to plan and conduct an employment interview.

e. How to structure your interview.

f. The use of proper questioning techniques.

g. An interview strategy.

h. Concluding and follow up action.

i. How to avoid discrimination in employment interviews.

j. DPA codes of practice – in respect of Recruitment & Selection.

 

Who should attend?

All Line Managers in BFG, those GLSU staff and Cat ‘B’ Unit staff with a responsibility for recruitment, interviewing and selection of LECs. This course is strongly recommended and should be considered mandatory by those required to carry out recruitment and selection interviews as part of their duties.
